“Easy Spanish Reader” is good if you already know some. If you’re still working on the basics, “Spanish Demystified” explains the grammar nicely. They’re both fun to read.

your winning choice would be the classic Berlitz title: the Berlitz Self-Teacher Spanish. it is by light years far the best book in Spanish for a beginner, so get it now.
