ctrmom asked:
Although I’m confident that it would be a great way for my child to learn Spanish, I’d like to hear input from parents whose children have attended Spanish Immersion elementary schools: Have they learned/tested well in other subject areas like reading (English), science, history, etc? Overall positive experience, or trade-off for Spanish success?

creedmoor1875 asked:
I am restarting college and i wanted to major in Spanish. I see the commericals on TV for Rosetta Stone and i wanted to know does it really help as a supplement (or as a primary learning tool as advertized)? Other reviews i have read seem mixed feelings about the product. Thanks!

why do our kids need to learn spanish in middle schools?
gamerman asked:
I mean, if people came to our country, especially illegally, doesn’t that mean that they have to learn english, instead of the other way around? I don’t mean to sound like a racist, but my son and daughter need to stay an extra hour in school just to learn spanish.

What is the best and most accurate way to learn spanish?
aljw526 asked:
I have never taken a second language, but where I live everyone speaks spanish. Also, I hear there are different types of spanish depending on where your from so how do I learn a universal way to at least communicate on a basic level?

how long will it take ME to learn spanish?
Nenagh asked:
I would like to learn Spanish. I used to know elementry Spanish when I was younger (mediocre public school) but have stopped and thus forgot most. I’m studious (I’ve skipped 2 grades in the past year), my IQ is 128-154, depending on which test and how old I was while taking it (anything over 140 is considered “genius”, anything over 115 is considered “gifted” anything over 130 is considered “brilliant”, in scientific terms), and I’m good with vocabulary and memorizing words (my current workload for preparing for the SAT verbal is about 30-40 new vocabulary words a week and I’m doing great). I have an open schedule to study (I would be studying at home with CD Roms and language programs, etc., and could handle about 1-2 hours of Spanish instruction a day, but would rather keep it under 1 hour) and my mother is fluent in Spanish so she could assist me w/ pronunciation, etc. How long do you think it would take me to learn Spanish with all of the above taken into careful consideration?
